Winter to Spring - A Blog

Moon Poem 7/28/2018

Laying in bed
The Moon shines through the open window
Illuminating the reclining Buddha statue
Illuminating my tired face in bed
In this moment I know that I will die someday
As we all must do
And this body to which I cling will be knowing but a pile of bones white as tonight's Moon
In this moment I am alive
In this moment I embrace the gift of life
In this moment I am
In this moment I
In this moment

Written by Robert C. Piemme

There was a bright full moon when I wrote this. I first spontaneously recited the poem as I lay in bed, then put it to paper.
