Who We Are

We are a voluntary association of family and friends who want to help our unhoused/homeless neighbors.

Following the passing of Charles "Uncle Chuck or Chuckie" Leroy Oswald, Jr., his family came up with the idea of honoring his memory with an act of kindness through an outreach to their homeless/unhoused neighbors in Pittsburgh.

In 2024 they organized a backpack drive and distributed about 40 packs full of supplies (like socks, hygiene items, snacks and water, etc.) to unhoused/homeless folks in Pittsburgh and Warren, Pa.

In 2025 we continued working in the Pittsburgh area.

Now, in 2026, we will be in Colorado and NYC!

It was decided to create a website to help the general public better understand homeless and poverty issues.

In addition to future outreach actions planned, it is hoped that this website will help foster empathy, compassion, and understanding of issues such as housing instability, substance abuse, homelessness, and poverty and those who are experiencing them.
